The tension has been building up ever since Amelia decided to move in with Meredith and Maggie, played by Kelly McCreary, after Derek's death. Dempsey's character died because of a car crash that ended the previous season on a sad note.

The trigger of their conflict was when Penny, played by Samantha Sloyan, joined the story. Since Penny was the one who pronounced Derek as dead, her presence brought some negative emotions back to the house, as well as to Grey Sloan Hospital, where she is currently staying at as a resident.

Aside from that drama, the upcoming episode is expected to show how April, played by Sarah Drew, and Jackson's, played by Jesse Williams, relationship will play out after they decided get intimate. The teaser showed that they were both surprised with their decision. It was evident that they regret what they had just done.

However, the episode titled "The Things We Lost In The Fire" is also expected to touch other relationships in the series. According to TV Guide, the official synopsis reads, "Injured firefighters arrive at the hospital after battling a wildfire. Meanwhile, Maggie has trouble maintaining just a professional relationship with Andrew at work; and Jo wants to know what Alex's priorities are."

"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 is expected to air on ABC every Thursday. Episode 8 will air this Nov. 19.
