Gwyneth Paltrow Denial: Actress Outraged Over Rumors of Jeff Soffer Affair

Gwyneth Paltrow has expressed outrage over "completely false" rumors of an affair with a billionaire developer this week.

The actress has been married to Coldplay front man Chris Martin for the past decade, and the pair share two children together, but her relationship with Martin has been under the spotlight this week after rumors were sparked by media reports of an alleged affair - something the actress strongly denies.

According to recent reports, Paltrow had a "romantic relationship" with supermodel Elle Macpherson's billionaire husband, Jeff Soffer, in 2008.

The relationship claim may be published in an explosive new Vanity Fair article that is said to delve into a 2008 party in Miami when Paltrow and Soffer appeared to be getting close, reported the New York Post.

However, a spokesman for the "Thanks for Sharing" star vehemently denied the allegations, according to MailOnline.

"It's completely false," the rep said. "Jeff is a longtime friend of Gwyneth's and there was no romantic relationship with him at all. He flew many of his friends to Miami that weekend- not just Gwyneth."

Vanity Fair first indicated to Paltrow's alleged affair, and unsurprisingly, the magazine is the very publication with which the actress is currently having a feud.

Last week, Vanity Fair said it was going ahead with the article about Paltrow despite the actress' repeated pleas against it.

Editor Graydon Carter explained that the article would run as planned.

"We started a story on her," Carter told The Times of London. "We have a very good writer on it and it'll run… She sort of forced my hand."

Meanwhile, Paltrow had taken an oath to never work with Vanity Fair again- and urged celebrity friends to do the same- in order to protest its unflattering coverage of high-profile individuals.

Although Paltrow denies rumors of an affair, the Oscar Award-winner has admitted that marriage can be difficult in a past interview.

"It's hard being married. You go through great times, and you go through terrible times," said Paltrow speaking to Glamour's U.K. magazine. "We're the same as any couple."

Known for having had a close relationship with her late father, the actress recounted asking his advice.

"I asked my dad once, 'How did you and Mum stay married for 33 years?' And he said, 'Well, we never wanted to get divorced at the same time.' And I think that's what happens," explained Paltrow.

The actress' mother, Blythe Danner, is also an actress and is well known for her role in the film "Meet the Fockers."

As for her own marriage, Paltrow said that she and her husband are "good friends."

"We laugh, we're good friends, we like to do the same stuff," said the actress.
