The recently-aired Season 5 finale episode of the hit police-procedural TV drama series "Hawaii Five-O" saw an unexpected visitor in Kono's (Grace Park) wedding day.
Fans were apparently delighted to see Catherine Rollins (Michelle Borth) coming back to paradise after she has left the island in Season 4.
With her return however comes the question if she will once again work with Five-O or better yet, for how long the character will be staying in the show's upcoming season.
"It's not resolved how long she's going to stay. Clearly, it's a happy reunion, but it's a little awkward, also, based on how it was all left," executive producer Peter Lenkov told The Hollywood Reporter. "They both have a lot to talk about, which they don't really get to in the finale, so I'm hoping that we resolve it at the beginning of next year and decide the fate of Catherine at that time."
Of course, one of the people who were utterly glad for Catherine's comeback is McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin). The Lieutenant Commander hasn't dated anyone since she left. It now remains to be seen as to how the McRollins romance will play out in the upcoming season.
"Hawaii Five-O" was renewed by CBS for a sixth season earlier last week and will once again see the acts of Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park, Masi Oka, and Chi McBride as characters in an elite state police task force based in Hawaii.
According to TV Series Finale, the brand new series will likely to retain its Friday nights schedule when it returns to CBS this fall.
