Hoda Kotb, 'Today' Co-Host, Discusses Relationship, Hints Marriage

"The Today Show" favorite co-host Hoda Kotb has opened up about her personal relationship while at the Women of Concern Awards luncheon on Tuesday.

The 47-year-old television personality admitted to People magazine that she was anxious ahead of introducing her boyfriend, rumored to be lawyer Jay Blumenkopf, to her family.

"I was a little nervous, I have to say," said the news anchor.

When asked what she likes most of her boyfriend and Boca Raton lawyer, Kotb replied, "I think the way he cares about me, probably."

"You know when you watch someone care about someone you are about," she added. "It's just so nice."

Tuesday's event honored Kotb with a Humanitarian and Leadership Award. A self-proclaimed independent woman, Kathie Lee Gifford's co-star went as far as saying that she is not the "clingy Velcro girlfriend type at all."

"You don't ever expect it at this stage of your life," Kotb continued of her relationship. "I didn't expect someone would look at me the way he looks at me. And in fact, I don't think I've ever been looked at like that in my life, quite frankly."

Kotb, who has appeared on "Today" since 2007, said she has a quiet summer planned, but cryptically noted that she and her boyfriend have something really special in mind for their future together.

"I think there may be a little surprise coming," said Kotb according to People. "So we're going to wait and see what happens."

"The Today Show" has seen numerous headlines this week with the departure of longtime co-host Ann Curry. Kotb, who currently hosts the show's fourth hour alongside Kathie Lee Giffords, was rumored to be replacing Curry.

When asked if she would ever switch hours with Curry in the past, Kotb said, "I'm actually happy where I am," according to The Huffington Post.
