Homeland Premiere Spoilers, Plot News: Carrie Returns as the 'Drone Queen'

The highly-acclaimed political thriller series "Homeland" is now set to return for its fourth season with its premiere episode entitled "The Drone Queen" and to be followed back-to-back by "Trylon and Perisphere" which are scheduled to air this coming Sunday, Oct. 5, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.

Considered to be the season where the show returns to what it's good at, the fourth chapter of "Homeland" will once again focus on Claire Danes' complex, sometimes mentally jagged, CIA operative, Carrie Mathison.

"And while we know Carrie by now — she's fearless and unbounded at work and skittish in personal relationships — her character is so well imagined and so skillfully performed by Ms. Danes that even after three years, there is still some ambiguity left," described The New York Times.

After shedding the plot line she shared with Damian Lewis' Brody, fans will now see Carrie back and more focused in the field. She will now be found running intelligence operations in Kabul and Islamabad.

In "The Drone Queen," there will be a bomb attack targeted on a high-value terrorist which gone awry and instead killed dozens of civilians in what seems to be a birthday party occasion.

Also returning to reprise their roles are Mandy Patinkin's Saul Berenson, Carrie's mentor and former boss; and Rupert Friend's Peter Quinn, black-ops assassin and Carrie's secret admirer.

Among the fresh characters to watch out for are Aayan Ibrahim – a Pakistani medical student who survives an attack – to be played by Suraj Sharma and Martha Boy (Laila Robins), the US ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Succeeding episode titles have also been released and they are as follows:

  • 'Shalwar Kameez" (Oct. 12)
  • "Iron in the Fire" (Oct. 19)
  • "About a Boy" (Oct. 26)
