HTC One 2 Verizon Release Date Set for March 25
The HTC One 2 Verizon release date could be set for March 25.
A sign from a Verizon store with an HTC logo at the bottom features the message "Get Ready to hit refresh" 3.25 at 1 p.m. This could mean that Verizon will begin offering either the device, or pre-orders for it starting at this time.
The U.K. retailer Carphone Warehouse is rumored to be offering it on the same day which also happens to be when the official unveiling will take place.
The new HTC One will reach six Carphone Warehouse stores in London tomorrow. Buyers will have the option to pick up the device at any of them.
The device's price leaked on eBay earlier this month.
A Verizon branded 32GB version of the HTC One 2014 model was sold on the site for $499.99. The post showed the new box and it also confirmed the phone's specifications.
The box label does not feature the "All New" name anymore that was originally announced. Instead, it seems like the company will brand the next-gen device as the HTC One 2014.
The specs leaked on the box include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 CPU, nanoSIM, 2GB RAM, a 5-inch 1080p Full HD display, HTC BoomSound and a 4-Ultrapixel camera.
Anticipation for the upcoming HTC One 2 is being stirred up by all of these recent leaks, according to HTC Americas President Jason Mackenzie.
He appeared on CNBC's recently "Fast Money" to discuss the HTC One's status as phone of the year for 2013 and the company's future plans.
The interviewer brought up the frequent number of leaks regarding the HTC One 2 and Mackenzie followed it up by stating that he wouldn't comment except for acknowledging the leaks as a clear indicator that people are really interested in the next-gen model.
