Lindsay Lohan 20/20 Interview Canceled to Avoid Questions About Lying?

Lindsay Lohan has cancelled a 20/20 interview following reports that the actress may face charges following a June car accident.

The actress was accused of lying to authorities about the accident after evidence surfaced that she had lied to authorities about being behind the wheel. Lohan could face jail time if the Santa Monica city prosecutor decides to file charges, due to a breach of parole.

Lohan was accused of avoiding the hot seat after cancelling the Barbara Walters interview. Difficulties with the actress began while some believed that she was on an upward slope to recovering her career, following a lecture from a judge in June.

"Everybody else has to follow the law. You're no different than anyone else," L.A. Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz told the star. "So please, don't push your luck."

Just after, Lohan's role in the Lifetime movie "Liz and Dick" was announced. She was also named to star in a second role in "The Canyons." Lohan had just satisfied her probation terms in March, following five years being in and out of trouble with the law due to DUI's and shoplifting. Her final probation was a leniency from the judge. Instead having to serving a typical probation sentence, she was offered an "informal" one which required her only to follow all laws for the next two years.

"You need to live your life in a more mature way," Judge Stephanie Sautner warned in March. "Stop the nightclubbing and focus on your work. I don't expect to see you again."

The stipulation was that she could face up to 245 days in prison if she failed to commit to the terms. A misdemeanor in Santa Monica would count as a violation of that agreement. Lohan allegedly dodged the 20/20 interview on the advice from her PR team after the show's producers made it clear that they wanted to question her about lying to the authorities, according to TMZ.
