'Longmire' Still Cancelled While Looking for Network, Cast, Crew, and Fans Keep Faith

"Longmire" is a crime drama television series which first premiered on Jun. 3, 2012 on the A&E channel. The series is based on the "Walt Longmire Mysteries" mystery novels written by best-selling author Craig Johnson. After the premiere of its third season which ran from June 2 through Aug. 4, 2014, the show was cancelled.

While the show is certainly not going to get a fourth season soon, Warner Horizon Television – the ones producing the series – is shopping it to other networks. Afterwards, the series might get a fourth season but until then, the show is cancelled.

Still, even as the "Longmire" series continues to be shrouded in a veil of uncertainty, cast and crew who worked on the series are hopeful that a fourth season will follow once the franchise is bought by another network.

Ever since the cancellation of the show, fans have been showing their support to bring back the series through the #LongLiveLongmire hastag on Twitter a month ago. They've gone one step further from the hashtag and dedicated individualized days for each character, as if promoting the character from the series.

Saturday has been designated as "Ruby Day" after the character played by Louanne Stephens. A fan recently posted a photo of Stephens and co-star Lou Diamond Phillips, complimenting the on-set tone.

The reason why the cast and crew wanted to continue the series was that they treasured each and every moment on set. They were committed to the series and wanted to keep the spirit of the series alive until producers find a new network to fund the show.
