'NCIS: Los Angeles' Season 8 Release Date, Spoilers: G. Callen Gets a Lovelife for the First Time in the Series; Deeks and Kensi Get Engaged

NCIS: Los Angeles Season 8 premiere is moved up to September 25 as announced by CBS

It certainly seems that love is in the air in "NCIS:Los Angeles" Season 8. First, the spoiler of the engagement of Kensi Blye and Marty Deeks came out. As the new season nears its premier, it was also revealed that G. Callen will have a love life for the first time in the series.

Deeks and Kensi's engagement

According to spoilers for "NCIS:Los Angeles" Season 8, Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) will even take their relationship further than they already did towards the end of last season when they moved in together. In the upcoming season of NCIS:Los Angeles, an engagement may be in the offing. But, perhaps to give way to Ruah's real life pregnancy, a story arc was created where the two need to separate physically because of work.

Agent with a mysterious past

Now, G. Callen played by Chris O'Donnell has joined the lovers bandwagon. In NCIS: Los Angeles, Callen is not only an NCIS Special Agent but also belongs to the Office of Special Projects in Los Angeles that is run by Henrietta Lange.

It wasn't until a NCIS:Los Angeles Season 7 episode when the name of the agent with a mysterious past was revealed. In the episode titled Matryoshka, Callen met his father who told him his given name is actually Grisha Alexandrovich Nikolaev.

Sparks flew between Anna and Callen

Callen has never been romantically involved with anyone, and if spoilers for "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8 are true, he will fall in love with Anna Kolcheck (Bar Paly), who is Arkady Kolcheck's daughter. According to reports, Anna will be given a big exposure in the upcoming season as she will be working closely with the NCIS team.

EP R. Scott Gemmill admits to having the need to push Anna's relationship with Callen a bit. It can be remembered that she first made an appearance in episode 21 of NCIS:Los Angeles Season 6 when she joined forces with Callen on a rescue mission for her father.

It appears now that there were sparks that flew between them and in the present, they may be given a chance to know each other better and maybe even date.

Season 8 premiere moved earlier

Meanwhile, the latest big news for "NCIS:Los Angeles" Season 8 is that its premier will be coming a little earlier than what was originally announced. Previously slated for October 2, the series will now air two back-to-back episodes on September 25, Sunday, as its season premiere.

The reason for the sudden shift for "NCIS:Los Angeles" Season 8 is the decision of CBS to change their miniseries, The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey, from a six-hour miniseries into a two-night, four-hour miniseries. Thus, it will run on September 18 and 19, and will be over by the following weekend.
