'NCIS' Season 14 Spoilers: Stars Tease of Love Triangles, Pregnancy and Explosions; Wilmer Valderrama Says Season Is Complicated, Unpredictable
The long running CBS hit show "NCIS" will feature Leroy Jethro Gibbs' squad investigating a car explosion that will lead to the introduction of the new members of his team. It was previously announced that Wilmer Valderrama from "Grey's Anatomy" and former "Blue Bloods" cast Jennifer Esposito have been signed up to the hit procedural show.
New Squad Members
How they will be making their debut in the series was revealed in the recent Television Critics Association summer press tour. According to the synopsis of the "NCIS" Season 14 premiere episode, Gibbs and his squad will investigate a car explosion that will connect them with Nick Torres, Valderrama's character. He just surfaced after doing an undercover mission six months ago.
In the meantime, Gibbs asks Esposito's character, NCIS special agent Alex Quinn, to shadow his team. Gibbs has previously rejected all eight agents Quinn referred to replace Anthony DiNozzo.
MI6 officer Clayton Reeves, played by British actor Duane Henry, will be made a regular member of the squad. He will help catch a rogue agent and at the same time take revenge for Ziva David's murder.
It will be recalled that Duane Henry was first introduced on "NCIS" Season 13 finale. There are reports however that Henry won't be making his debut in the coming season until the fifth episode. It seems the three characters' introductions are being spaced out and done in the most creative way possible.
#Unpredictable
In a recent interview, Valderrama used the hashtags #complicated and #unpredictable as he teased about his appearance in the series. He also previously raved about filming a motorcycle chase scene right off in his first episode in the season. The other cast members also agree and said that viewers will not be able to imagine what lies ahead in the 13th season. They hinted of love triangles and a pregnancy.
Valderrama added that it is refreshing to be in a show that consistently knows what the audience wants. He added that the show also consistently finds its way to people's homes.
Fresh Start
It will be a fresh start for "NCIS" Season 14 after the departure of the beloved DiNozzo especially with the introduction of new members to the task force. It will also be interesting to see how the returning characters embrace them and the new dynamics in the series. Some of them will also have new roles in the team such as special agent Timothy McGee who has been promoted to senior field agent.
"NCIS" Season 14 returns on September 20 on CBS.
