A New York Times report has indicated that a man has been arrested by NYPD after it emerged he was planning to build and detonate a bomb in the city.
The office of Mayor Michael Bloomberg has announced to media that a joint news conference will be held at 7.30 p.m. EST where the police commissioner and district attorney.
It is believed that the man in question was arrested sometime in the past 24 hours after authorities received information that he would be targeting government workers with a bomb device, The New York Times has said.
