New York Knicks Result: Jeremy Lin and Knicks Come Up Short in Boston

Jeremy Lin did not have the sensational game spectators have grown accustomed to and the rest of the Knicks could not overcome the Boston Celtics.

The Knicks were trying to stay above .500 and take over second place in the conference that had been occupied by Boston.

The Celtics, who beat the Knicks the game before Lin started on his rags-to-riches fairytale just over a month ago, knew how dangerous the Knicks could be.

"They're playing at a high level. Lin is obviously taking over the world. That's dope. You always like to see someone succeed at what they love," the Celtics' Kevin Garnett said.

Garnett continued: "He plays with a lot of passion; he's (giving) them, not just the city, but that team, life. ... He's definitely put a spark into the city, and there's no better city to spark up than New York. So that's perfect. I think it's cool."

It was back and forth the whole game when Carmelo Anthony had a chance to end the game with only a second left on the game clock. The ball hit the back iron and the two teams played five more minutes in overtime.

In overtime the Knicks could not match the Celtics who were able to pull slightly ahead. They were led by Rajon Rondo who had a triple-double in the Celtic's win.

"They have a heck of a lot of pieces," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. "So they're impressive. When you look at their roster on paper, you think, 'Man, that's an impressive amount of talent on one basketball team.'"

The Knicks were unable to end a 10-game losing streak in Boston with their last victory coming in November 2006.
