Newtown High Alum Bruce Jenner Calls Sandy Hook Tragedy 'Unimaginable'

Olympian Bruce Jenner recently spoke out on the Dec. 14 mass killings which took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., as he spent part of his youth two miles away from the scene of the shootings and graduated from Newtown High School.

"Not in a million years would you ever think that this quiet little town would have such a terrible, terrible tragedy happen there," Jenner told E! News in a Dec. 18 article, adding that he believes the tragedy is "unimaginable."

"I mean, I woke up and turned on the news, and they were saying this was just can't believe it," the Olympian and reality television show personality added.

"I just get mad inside at humanity sometimes and how a twisted mind can be so evil," Jenner concluded.

In addition to Jenner being a graduate of Newtown High School, his sister reportedly attended kindergarten at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Several celebrities have joined Jenner in speaking out on the tragedy which shook Sandy Hook Elementary School last week.

"Shocked and saddened by what happened today in Connecticut. We have to stop the access to guns in our country," tweeted actor Ben Stiller.

"Just heard about the shooting in Connecticut. My thoughts go out to all who are dealing with this sad news," tweeted actor Kevin Spacey.

Many of the Kardashian brood, to which Jenner is patriarch, also took to Twitter to express their grief.

"If this tragedy doesn't change something in this country regarding guns...I just want to scream and cry. Deeply saddened. Praying," tweeted Kourtney Kardashian, who is the daughter of Kris Jenner, who married Bruce Jenner in 1990.

"In total shock over the school shooting in Ct!...What has this world come to…These kids come to school to learn, never expecting this tragedy to happen. They didn't deserve this. Praying for everyone involved!" tweeted Kim Kardashian.

Jenner is a former track and field Olympian athlete, and currently stars as the father-figure on the E! reality television show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

On Dec. 14, police reported that 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot and killed 26 victims at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

Lanza also presumably shot his mother, Nancy Lanza, at her Newtown home and ultimately turned the gun on himself after the shooting spree at the school.
