*NSync Reunion Rumors Addressed By Lance Bass

*NSync rumors of an upcoming reunion swirled online earlier this week, causing former member Lance Bass to comment on the hype.

The boy band rose to fame in 1998 with hits such as "I Want You Back" and "It's Tearin' Up My Heart," among many others, and went on to sell millions of album copies around the world.

On Tuesday, the internet was set aflame after rumors indicated that Justin Timberlake would be joined by former *NSync band mates Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick at MTV's Video Music Awards on Sunday, where Timberlake will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award.

Timberlake and MTV have yet to comment on the reunion rumors, which saw an overwhelming response, but Bass was forced to acknowledge the speculation during his Sirius radio show last night.

While Bass did not outright deny the rumors, the singer admitted that they came as no surprise to him.

"Now I have to address the rumors, of course," Bass started on Tuesday. "This morning I woke up to a lot of rumors flying that the *NSync reunion is happening after eleven years at the VMA's this Sunday. Well, let me tell you how this all came about. Justin Timberlake is getting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award this Sunday at the awards, so of course people are automatically going to think we're going to be there performing, but this is exactly how it happened and I knew these rumors were going to fly."

The 34-year-old noted that his own previous Instagram post oh himself, Fatone, and Kirkpatrick at Timberlake's concert contributed rumors of a reunion, but only confirmed that fans' reactions were "amazing."

"It's amazing to see the reaction out there on Twitter and social media of how many people really are supporting *NSync," Bass said on his radio show. "It's so nice to see because when we ended things ten years ago, there was no social media. There was no Twitter fans, that type of stuff, but it's so cute to see how many people are supporting it and *NSync was even trending."

In fact, *NSync fans flooded Twitter with high hopes about the band's VMA's reunion and tweets continued on Wednesday, but the news has not been confirmed or denied.

Nevertheless, the 2013 VMA's will take place at Brooklyn, New York's Barclays Center on Sunday at 9 p.m. EST.
