'Outlander' Season 2 News: Set Designer Reveals On-Set Details

The anticipation for the return of Starz's hit fantasy drama TV series "Outlander" for season two seems to keep getting more intense as the months pass by.

To keep the fans busy, the network released a handful of promotional materials showing what has been going on behind the camera. The latest of which features Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitrona Balfe) donning their new sets of outfits.

Followers may already know that the new installment will find the two in a new territory. Needless to say, the couple needs to look the part in order to blend in with locales.

Making this huge wardrobe change possible is set designer Terry Dresbach. In a latest interview, Dresback revealed to Entertainment Weekly how they unknowingly have made over 10,000 new items and acquired 5,000 shoes just for Season 2 alone.

"Knowing that was in front of us … it was a monumental task," the artist said, adding that they had to prepare everything long before Season 1 had ended.

What is even more challenging is the fact that France, where the new season will take place largely, has "one of the most well-documented periods of fashion in the world." So there's the pressure to get everything right even into the smallest detail.

"There is no wiggle room. Everything has to be sumptuous and lavish and every inch is beaded and embroidered," Dresbach shared to the media outlet.

The experience, however, is dream come true for Dresbach.

"This is why I came back into the business to do this show. Getting to do 18th century French court is a designer's dream. It's fabulous," he told EW.

The time-travel drama will find Jamie and Claire in an attempt to stop the Jacobite Rebellion in France.

As of its production status, earlier reports indicated that filming for season two is close to wrapping up. Fans should expect "Outlander" returning to the small screen in spring 2016.
