'Pirates Of The Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales' Release Date Changed; Orlando Bloom Reprises Role As Will Turner

Film series "Pirates of the Caribbean" is set to return to the big screen soon for its fifth installment with the subtitle "Dead Men Tell No Tales." Fans who are looking forward to catching the new movie are already excited since Johnny Depp is reprising his role as the legendary pirate of the Seven Seas, Captain Jack Sparrow.

But in the fifth movie, Captain Jack Sparrow will be sharing the spotlight with another captain who will be the new antagonist of the film, Captain Salazar, played by Penelope Cruz's Spanish husband Javier Bardem ("Skyfall," "Eat, Pray, Love"). The official synopsis spotted at Slash Film reads:

"Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him."

It also stated that the only way for Captain Jack to survive the ordeal is to find the legendary Trident of Poseidon, which is described as a powerful artifact that gives its possessor complete control over the seas.

As to who else will be returning or joining the cast, Latin Post reported that Orlando Bloom is already confirmed to make a comeback to reprise his role as Will Turner. New cast members include Brenton Thwaites as Henry and Kaya Scodelario as Carina Smyth. More information about both of the characters will be revealed in the coming days. Keira Knightley and Penelope Cruz are reported not to return anymore.

According to The Wrap, the film is currently in post-production. Depp has already finished filming his scenes for the movie as well. "Pirates of Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will hit theaters on May 26, 2017 instead of the initial release date which was supposed to be on July 7, 2017.
