PlayStation Plus March 2017 Free Game List to Include AAA and Indie Titles

PlayStation Plus subscribers are currently waiting for Sony to drop the list of free games for this March. With only several days remaining in February, the announcement is expected to occur any time this week.

Last month, gamers enjoyed free download of a total of six games – "Not a Hero" (PS4), "LittleBigPlanet 3" (PS4), "Ninja Senki DX" (PS Vita, Cross Buy with PS4), "Starwhal" (PS3, Cross Buy with PS4), "Anna: Extended Edition" (PS3), and "TorqueL" (PS Vita, Cross Buy with PS4). According to the Inquisitr, the likely games to be included in the March lineup are a combination of AAA titles and indie games. "SteamWorld Heist," "Alienation," "Abzu," "Killzone: Shadow Fall" and "Fat Princess Adventures" could be some of those games.

"SteamWorld Heist" is a turn-based strategy action shooter developed by Image & Form. It is the third game in Swedish developer's SteamWorld series, which was first released in 2010. "SteamWorld Heist" was made available for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in December 2015.

"Alienation," on the other hand, is Housemarque's shooter and role-playing video game released for PlayStation 4 in April 2016. The players' mission is simple – to defend Earth from the conquering alien species.

Meanwhile, Giant Squid Studios' "Abzu" is an adventure video game where players explore the underwater world. The indie game was first released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows August last year.

Another possible game in the March lineup is the first-person shooter video game, "Killzone: Shadow Fall." The sixth game of the Killzone series from Guerrilla Games made its debut in 2013.

Lastly, Fun Bits Interactive's "Fat Princess Adventures" is a popular choice for many. The quirky action role-playing video game has gained mostly positive reviews since its introduction in December 2015.

On a different note, Sony's PlayStation Store is currently hosting a sale of its best games for 2016. According to PlayStation Universe, the Critic's Choice Sale, which will run until Feb. 28, offers huge discounts on popular titles that include "Inside," "Darkest Dungeon" and "Titanfall 2," among others. PlayStation Plus members can avail up to 70 percent discounts on a variety of games, while non-subscribers are being offered up to 60 percent off. For instance, "Inside," which normally sells for about $20 is on sale at $7.99.
