Pray.com launches AI studio to turn sermons into videos for churches

Pray.com, the faith platform behind the viral AI Bible videos, is now offering pastors AI-generated cinematic videos of their sermons, with plans starting at $19 a month.
More than a year after launching the AI Bible to “glorify God by bringing the Bible and its incredible stories to life” in cinematic, AI-generated videos, Pray.com, a massive digital faith and prayer platform, is now offering pastors the opportunity to do the same with their sermons for a base fee of $19 a month.
Co-founded by Steve Gatena, Michael Lynn, Ryan Beck, and Matt Potter, the company describes itself as "the world's #1 app for faith and prayer." On YouTube, their AI Bible has already racked up more than 70 million views and more than 400,000 subscribers, from 734 AI-generated videos highlighting some of the most popular Bible stories like Adam and Eve or the plagues in Exodus.
Max Bard, the company's vice president for content, likened their work last year to “the Marvel Universe of faith” in an interview with NPR.
"The AI Bible is a way to really bring these stories to life in a way that people have never seen before. Think of if we were like, the Marvel Universe of faith," he said.
Theologians gave the videos mixed reviews in that report. Brad East, a professor of theology at Abilene Christian University in Texas, said the videos rob the Bible of its power by reducing it to an action movie.
"It's depressing that anyone would think that approach to biblical material was in any way spiritually edifying," he told NPR.
The 10-year-old company's two-minute "What if The Bible had a movie trailer...?" video released in February 2025 has more than 2 million views.
Through its Pray Production Studio, the AI-powered platform lets pastors and creators turn sermons and ideas into cinematic videos, without cameras, actors or full crews; subscription plans start at $19 per month, according to the company's press release. It draws on AI video models including Google Veo, Kling and Seedance.
The $19 Lite plan includes 1,000 credits a month. A $199 starter plan with 12,500 credits is pitched as the plan "for the pastor preaching every Sunday," and plans run up to $4,995 a month for Enterprise. New subscribers also pay a one-time $9 setup fee, according to the studio's FAQ.
“AI shouldn’t displace human creativity,” Gatena said in a press statement Tuesday. “Today, we are making an easy-to-use, advanced production studio available to faith creators everywhere at an accessible price point. This is the winning combination of humans leveraging AI to expand the ability to create and tell stories with the creator’s own message, ideas, and perspective remaining at the center. The tool does not carry the message. The pastor does. We just removed the crew, the cameras, and the six-week timeline that stood between the message and the screen.”
Pray.com is expected to host live demo workshops at the SALT Christian Creative Arts Conference Oct. 14-16 in Dallas, Texas, with standard tickets starting at $547.
