Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Make First Public Appearance as Couple During Invictus Games

Meghan Markle showed support for her boyfriend, Prince Harry, during the Invictus Games in Toronto this weekend.

The "Suits" star attended the annual Invictus Games in Canada to support her royal beau, according to reports. It was Markle and Prince Harry's first public appearance as a couple, though they did not sit together. The prince sat beside U.S. First Lady Melania Trump and Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, while Markle was with friend Markus Anderson, who first introduced the duo.

Markle, 36, was there to show support for Prince Harry, 33. She was photographed applauding when he went up to the stage to give a speech. Markle and Prince Harry reportedly left the venue in the prince's blacked-out car right after his speech. Their appearance further ramped up speculations that their engagement will be announced soon.

Daily Mail points out that Markle was escorted by one of Prince Harry's own Scotland Yard protection officers. No obvious entourage was seen around her, but a royalty and diplomatic protection squad officer allegedly stood a few feet away from her. This raised eyebrows since Markle, a commoner, is not actually entitled to have a tax payer-funded security detail.

Earlier this month, Markle opened up about her romance with the prince for a cover story interview with Vanity Fair. She also shared that the increased public attention on their relationship did not change her in any way.

"We're two people who are really happy and in love," she told the media outlet. "We were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news, and I was working during that whole time, and the only thing that changed was people's perception," she added. "Nothing about me changed. I'm still the same person that I am, and I've never defined myself by my relationship."
