Real Madrid vs Barcelona takes place in Spain's Copa Del Rey competition on Wednesday night, in one of the most mouth-watering ties in global soccer. The match is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. ET.

In Spain's La Liga competition Real Madrid have struggled under the dominance of their arch rivals, Barcelona. Real currently lie 15 points behind Barcelona in the league table, although Barcelona lost their first match in the league just recently. Real will be hoping that will spark a downturn in form in their rivals.

Lionel Messi has been amazing once again this season and has now scored in 11 straight league games.

On the season's form so far Barcelona would be clear favorites, however, when Real and Barcelona face off, then it always seems to be a 50:50 game, with both sides lifting their games and fiercely fighting to gain the upper hand.

Real would love to get one over on their big rivals in the semi finals of the Copa Del Rey, and another loss today for Barcelona would suggest a clear downturn in form, after they went the entire first half of the season without losing a game in Spain's domestic competitions.

Especially as Barcelona's recent loss has coincided with an upturn in form for Real; they have claimed two massive wins recently - recording a superb 5-0 victory at Valencia before handing out a 4-0 defeat to Getafe.

Cristiano Ronaldo has featured hugely for Real in recent games, and this match up once again will be touted as a Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo face off. Two of the best players on the planet will be hoping to get the better of the game tonight, and with these two both playing there are sure to be fireworks and goals.
