'Revenge' Season Renewal News, Update: TV Drama Series Officially Over

As a lot of fans have feared, ABC's hit TV drama show "Revenge" which stars Emily VanCamp as the vengeful Emily Thorne/Amanda Clarkson, will finally have its series conclusion this Season 4.

The network has officially cancelled the renewal of the intense Hampton drama and will be wrapped up in the upcoming finale episode in May 10. Executive producer Sunil Nayar revealed the news.

"We can officially tell our fans that this will be the end of the story," he told Entertainment Weekly. "We've been talking to the network and we all just wanted to make sure that we felt very confident. Now that everybody has seen the finale—which is fabulous—everybody understands that as much as we all adore the show, it has hit exactly the mark it needed to end."

A report from Variety meanwhile cited Nayar teasing that followers of the show should expect a "cliffhanger" towards the end of the series ender titled "Two Graves." According to the publication, this may serve as a link to "Revenge" producer Sallie Patrick's upcoming show "Kingmakers."

The said show has already been rumored to act as a spinoff of the Emily Thorne drama but ABC hasn't confirmed it to be a direct follow-up.

"However, 'Kingmakers' would certainly strike similarities to the former show, given Patrick's association as writer and exec producer on the series, which takes place at an Ivy League university that is rocked by a student's sudden death, prompting her brother to take on a new identity to infiltrate the school and its century-old secret society in order to investigate the death," the site wrote.

Viewers will still get to see Emily in this week's upcoming penultimate episode titled "Plea" which airs this Sunday, May 3, on ABC.
