Samsung Galaxy S3 Release Date: Specs Leaked, Reveals Powerhouse Processor

The Samsung Galaxy S2 has only been released on one of its three scheduled carriers in the U.S. and there is already talk of its successor.

On Monday, reports surfaced that an anonymous member of the imageboard website 4Chan leaked the specs of a proposed Samsung Galaxy S3.

Reports detail that the 4Chan member got direct information from a Samsung representative not only about the Galaxy S3 but also about the upcoming Samsung Nexus Prime and Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

The potential specs for the Galaxy S3 are impressive with a powerhouse 2.0 Ghz quad-core processor and 4.65-inch “Super AMOLED III” display which views at a dazzling resolution of 1280x1024 and 352ppi.

In addition, the Galaxy S3 could have a 10 megapixel camera, 1.5GB of RAM, 1080p recording at 60fps, 32GB of internal storage, a 2,250MaH battery and a TouchWiz 5.0 user interface.

The Galaxy S3 will most likely run on Android’s latest Ice Cream Sandwich OS, which is scheduled to release in late October and will premiere with the Samsung Nexus Prime smartphone, which will be released on the Verizon network on November 3.

It is rumored that the Galaxy S3 will be released in 2012. The 4Chan member indicates that Samsung will officially reveal smartphone at the Mobile World Congress event (MWC) in Barcelona next year.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is still in the process of being debuted in the U.S.

The Sprint Epic 4G Touch version of the smartphone was released on September 16. The scheduled September 18 release of the AT&T Galaxy S2 has since been postponed. The Galaxy S2 is also supposed to run on the T-Mobile Network. While there is no specific date for its release on that carrier, it is expected sometime during fall 2011.
