Samsung Galaxy TabPro S2 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Windows-Powered Tablet Leaked in FCC Listing
With the confirmed absence of the much-anticipated Galaxy S8, Samsung's Mobile World Congress (MWC) presentation later this month will be focused on its next-generation tablets — the Galaxy Tab S3 and the Galaxy TabPro S2. Ahead of the official launch, the latter device recently received its certification from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) which also detailed the forthcoming two-in-one device's full set of specifications.
Based on the listing, which was obtained by The Leaker, the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S2 features a 12-inch super active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display with a resolution of 2,166 x 1,440 pixels.
It is powered by the seventh-generation Intel Kaby Lake Core i5-7200 processor with Intel HD Graphics. The former is clocked at 3.1 GHz while the latter can reach up to 1 GHz. There is also 4 GB of random-access memory (RAM) and 128 GB of built-in solid-state drive (SSD) storage.
Other notable features include a 13-megapixel (MP) rear camera with support for 4K video recording, a 5-MP front shooter with full high-definition recording quality and a 5,070-mAh battery with a 25-watt Turbo Charger. Connectivity-wise, there will be two USB 3.0 Type-C ports and one SIM/microSD card slot.
The listing also revealed that there will be support for the keyboard cover and the S-Pen stylus.
The Samsung Galaxy TabPro S2 is also said to come in four variants. Two will feature 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) connectivity while the other half will be Wi-Fi only. Just like the Galaxy TabPro S, the upcoming device will also be running the Windows 10 operating system. Consumers will be able to choose from Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro.
Samsung has not officially announced the Galaxy TabPro S2 yet so just like previous reports, information regarding the upcoming device's specs should be taken with a grain of salt. Thankfully, the next-generation tablet's launch is just around the corner.
Samsung has already announced that it will hold a press conference on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. CET/ 1 p.m. EST, just a day before MWC 2017 in Barcelona, Spain.
