Selena Gomez: Taylor Swift Friendship is 'Great'

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift have been spending a lot of time together recently and seem to share a very close friendship. Selena Gomez recently spoke about her relationship with Swift, and just how important the singer is to her life.

Earlier this week, Gomez was attending an opening for her upcoming movie "Getaway," and she found the opportunity to talk about the friendship with Swift, according to Perez Hilton.

"I have good people around me. I have a strong belief that you must surround yourself with good people … I have a very strong family and good friends. I just want to do things that people end up respecting me for," the "Spring Breakers" star said. "It's so good to have [Taylor Swift] around. She's great!"

Expanding on her beliefs and feelings about friendship the "Come and Get it" singer said, "You are who you surround yourself with, especially on tour."

The two friends were seated side by side during the MTV Video Music Awards, and were seen whispering and giggling with each other throughout the award ceremony. In fact, according to several reports, Swift was caught on video using an expletive to Gomez during One Direction appearance on the Video Music Awards.

It appears that the "You Belong With Me" singer said "Shut the [expletive] up" as she sat next to her pal Gomez when One Direction presented the award for Best Pop Video. Swift of course was once romantically involved with One Direction member Harry Styles before a bad break up, and Swift has repeatedly spoken and sung out against him since that time.
