Simon Cowell Wants Son to Carry His Name and Business Legacy

Simon Cowell has big plans for his future son; he definitely wants him to carry on in the entertainment industry and revealed that he may just name the boy after himself.

"My number one choice is Simon because I like the name," he told Extra's Terri Seymour. "His birthday is going to be very close to my dad's birthday."

Cowell has been fairly tight-lipped since it was revealed that he was expecting a child with friend Lauren Silverman. Since she divorced her husband, though, they have been a bit more outspoken and are working on building a solid relationship before the birth of their son.  Cowell said he already has a parenting plan in the works.

"Be cool about it," he explained. "You know, don't worry about things too much. The way me and my brother were brought up, I mean, it was kind of relaxed. There were no self-help books or any of that crazy stuff. I want to teach him how to do my job as quickly as possible. I want to pass the reins over. I really would like the idea of teaching him how to run the business."

However, Cowell will have to get past the birth if he wants his son to "run the business." He previously stated that while he will be present for his son's birth, he will not be actively participating in the delivery.

"I know this sounds awful, but it's like you don't want to go into the restaurant while they're making your dinner. I think there are certain things you shouldn't see and that is one of them. I'll be close by, but no, I won't watch," Cowell told friend Ryan Seacrest.

It will be the first child for Cowell but the second for Silverman, who already has a son with ex-husband, Andrew, a son named Adam.
