Star Wars Battlefront 3 Release Date: Hoth and Endor Playable in Franchise Reboot

Star Wars Battlefront 3, the next title to the game adaptation to the iconic "Star Wars" films is rumored for a 2015 release. Electronic Arts subsidiaries Dice, Visceral Games, and Bioware are currently working on the title with a collaboration alongside LucasArts in order to make the game as accurate as possible.

Battlefront 3 was first announced by Dice during EA's press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo earlier this year. The game's announcement was accompanied by a trailer featuring the studio at work with the game.

Studio head Patrick Soderlund said the game is going to be built with the Frostbite 3 engine and stated that the game would be what Dice's interpretation of what Battlefront should be.

While the third title will be incorporating elements from the first two games, it won't be a sequel, but a reboot of the franchise.

On May 2013, EA obtained exclusive rights to develop the Star Wars games for the consoles. Then earlier this year at the E3 convention, EA revealed during their press conference that the planet Hoth and the moon Endor would be playable maps.

Battlefront is a Star Wars first-person/third-person shooter franchise that first appeared in 2004 and was available for the PC, the Playstation 2, the Xbox, and the Macintosh computers.

Battlefront 2 then made its release a year later for the Playstation 2, the Playstation Portable, the Xbox, and the PC.

Gameplay revolves around two factions from the Star Wars universe duking it out against each other in an attempt to control command posts. Depending on the game type, these command posts determine how much reinforcements each faction can afford.

Battlefront offers a "team deathmatch" type of gameplay where players only need to defeat all the enemies in order to win the match.
