'The Blacklist' Season 2 News, Spoilers: FBI Hunts Down a Dangerous Russian Assassin, Information About Liz's Mother to Be Revealed?

Things are definitely getting more intense as the second season of the hit crime-fighting TV drama series "The Blacklist" forwards with another exciting, brand new episode titled "Karakurt."

Spoiler reports indicated that after Red (James Spader) tipped the agency, the FBI will go in a manhunt to capture a dangerous Russian assassin named Karakurt who poses as a big threat to the lives of the people of U.S.

International Business Times said in their report that this person is another blow coming from Cabal. However, Liz (Megan Boone) and the rest of the team are already aware of the new foe. Fans may remember Quon Zhang (Ron Yuan) revealing the criminal's background to Liz in the previous episode.

Needless to say, being forewarned doesn't mean that they already have the upper hand. Liz and Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) will have to meet up with some Russian intelligence officials to gather more information about Karakurt.

However, things will get a little bit darker when Liz is offered with an unexpected piece of information, this time about the real identity of her mother.

To hype up the anticipation, a promo video released by NBC shows a man driving a car filled to the brim with explosives. The next scene saw Ressler shouting Liz's name while a huge explosion occurs.

Meanwhile, few details for the season finale were provided by executive producer Jon Bokenkamp, who recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly (via Latin Post).

The conversation seems to implicate tonight's shocking discovery with what is going to happen in the season finale.

"We are, in the last few episodes, going to be going back to that critical night in which so much of the story has its roots. Yes, we're going to have a big discovery. The storyline of Liz and her mother and how she's connected to Red is going to be at the heart of our finale," the executive producer revealed.

"The Blacklist" Season 2 airs Thursdays on NBC.
