'The Gifted' Spoilers, Cast: Two More Marvel Comics Characters Added
Fans are bound to meet more popular Marvel Comics characters in "The Gifted," which will hit the small screen next month.
"MacGyver" star Jermaine Rivers was cast to play the role of Shatter, a mutant with a rock-solid skin that makes him virtually invulnerable.
In the comics, the new "The Gifted" character is not all too happy about having this ability, knowing the horrendous things people do to mutants and what they have to endure.
When he was a teenager, he attempted to kill himself by shooting himself in the head, but it did nothing but dent his rock hard skin.
Rivers confirmed his "The Gifted" casting on Twitter, gushing about the opportunity to bring to life a character he only read about as a kid. The actor wrote:
As a kid I spent my lunch money to buy X-Men comics, honored to be part of the Marvel Universe and bring #Shatter to life!
It is unclear at the moment how Shatter will play into the events in "The Gifted" although the origin of the character hints that he too could be on the run while mutants are being hunted.
