'The Little Prince' worldwide movie release dates

Considered as one of the most-awaited movie adaptations this year, "The Little Prince" released its worldwide movie premiere date schedule at last. Fans all around the world can now see their beloved book translated into a motion film directed by filmmaker Mark Osborne ("Kung Fu Panda"). This animation film was originally shown at the Cannes Film Festival this year, and was released in France last July 29.

The animation is not a direct adaptation of the book, but parts of the novel were interpreted together with the story of a girl who's dealing with a controlling mother that wanted her to grow up too soon. The film is narrated in contemporary animation, but was added with sequences in stop-motion animation during the scenes with the Little Prince.

It tells about the life of the heroine, known simply as the "The Little Girl" (Mackenzie Foy), and her pushy mother (Rachel McAdams). The Little Girl's mother has already planned her life ahead for her, and decided to move to a new neighborhood to pursue that plan. Here, she became friends with her old and eccentric neighbor, "The Aviator" (Jeff Bridges). He shared her the story of the Little Prince, whom he said he once met when he was younger. The Aviator told her that he has spent so many years building a plane just to rescue the Little Prince, who was left on a planet in the sky. The Aviator got sick after, so the Little Girl decided to rescue the Little Prince.

The movie will be released in Turkey on Sept. 25, China on Oct. 16, Chile and Colombia on Nov. 5, Japan on Nov. 21, Italy and Portugal on Dec. 3, South Korea on Dec. 23, Hong Kong on Dec. 24, and Venezuela on Christmas Day.

There are no updates yet when the movie will have a wide theatrical release in the United States.
