'The Walking Dead' Season 5 Cast News, Spoilers: Show to Cast Major Character From the Comics

AMC's hit post-apocalyptic drama series "The Walking Dead" will see a new major character to join its cast list as its fifth season progresses.

A report from The Hollywood Reporter cited actor Ross Marquand slated to appear in the zombie show. His character, which is yet to be known, will appear during the second half of the season and will remain as a series regular. Rumors even mentioned that he might even be included in the purported sixth chapter of TWD.

Although unconfirmed, earlier spoiler reports suggested that the undead slaying drama is now set to introduce its first openly gay character named Aaron in the coming episodes. THR quoted comic book creator Robert Kirkman pointing out to it following TWD's midseason finale talks.

"Considering where AMC's Walking Dead is in relation to the comics, all signs point to the character of Aaron being introduced, as the series could explore the Alexandria storyline next now that the group is reunited and back on the road looking for a new home," the site speculated.

Aaron is a resident of Alexandria Safe-Zone. The character, first introduced in Kirkman's comic issue 67, is revealed to be a recruiter who works with partner and boyfriend, Eric.

He met with Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his crew who are enroute to Washington. Learning his lesson after the Governor Woodbury fiasco, the zombie slayer didn't trust Aaron right away and instead tied him up to determine if he is of the good or the bad side. In the end, the Alexandrian won the group's trust and later brought them to his sanctuary.

"The Walking Dead" returns for its Season 5B on Sunday, Feb 8, at 9 p.m. on AMC.
