'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers, News: Nick Suspicious of Gabriel, Drama at New Year's Party

"The Young and The Restless" is heating up as the year comes to a close. Though the residents of Genoa City will be celebrating the New Year, secrets could be exposed, a relationship will be strained and an old flame could be ignited. Read on to see spoilers for the episodes for the week of Dec. 29 through Jan. 2.

In the beginning of the week, Nick will begin to "put the pieces together" about Gabriel, according to Soap Central. He could eventually discover that Gabriel is actually is brother Adam. Adam will reveal to Jack that he was shot by Billy and he will also "make a move" on Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Ashley manages to reunite with an old friend, except now it could be something more — he ends up being her date for New Year's Eve.

Although Jack wants to keep things "low-key" for his NYE celebrations, Phyllis still plans for them to attend a holiday party at the Genoa City Athletic Club, according to IBTimes. More drama ensues when he finds out the party is hosted by his ex-girlfriend Kelly; by the time Phyllis arrives to the party, she sees Jack talking to Kelly and "misinterprets" the situation.

Later on this week, Nikki will make a shocking confession and Mariah surprises Kevin, which becomes an unexpected twist.

Stich and Victoria decide to get back together and have a romantic night while Jill and Cane make important decisions about their future.

Finally, a holiday miracle results in Neil seeing the light again. Things get much darker between Nick and Sharon, though, as the custody battle over their daughter Faith heats up.
