Trump reiterates warning against Democrat 'dark age' in final RNC address

President Donald Trump closed out the second and final night of the Republican National Midterm Convention in Dallas on Thursday by listing his administration's accomplishments and warning that Democrat policies will plunge the U.S. back into "a dark age."
"Less than two years ago, the American people gave us a mandate to save America, and in 19 months, I've delivered on every single promise I made; I think I delivered on far more," he claimed in his second speech of the event, which came on the heels of a two-hour address he delivered Wednesday at the American Airlines Center.
"Joe Biden and the radical left Democrats created the worst inflation in American history. They gave us wide open borders with 25 million people pouring in from all over the globe. They turned our cities into scenes of death and misery, murder, poverty and destruction, and made America a laughingstock. We were a laughingstock all over the world, but we took that dark age of America and turned it into the golden age of America," he continued.
Trump went on to boast of cutting taxes and regulations, investing in energy and the U.S. military, securing the U.S. border, reducing violent crime and prescription drug costs, as well as setting all-time stock market highs. He also highlighted culture war wins, such as terminating all diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) mandates in the federal government, banning transgender ideology and critical race theory in public schools, and ending "the transgender mutilation of our beautiful children."
Trump warned that much of what his administration has accomplished will be rolled back if the Democrats take back control of Congress in November.
"We will not have men playing in women's sports, and if the radical left Democrats and communists win this election, they're promising to confiscate your wealth, tax your Social Security, abolish no tax on tips, no tax on overtime," he said.
"They're going to defund the police, giving voting rights and welfare to 25 million illegal aliens; destroy Texas oil and gas, thereby doubling and tripling your taxes; have men playing in women's sports, transgender for everybody, the mutilation of your children; and set loose criminals to rob, rape and kill, like we had just two years ago," he continued.
"What we went through, we went through Hell," he added.
Trump went on to reiterate his promise from his Wednesday speech that every American citizen will receive a $5,000 "Trump dividend" if Republicans maintain control of Congress this November.
"If we win the midterms, we will, on the other hand, provide a — let's call it 'Trump dividend' — $5,000 for every adult citizen in our country. And we can do that because our country has never done better. We're taking in trillions, trillions of dollars. There's never been any country, not even close, that's come anywhere near," he said.
Trump also touted the proposed "No Invasion of Our Country Act" he first mentioned Wednesday, which he claimed would make it illegal for future presidents "to open the border again."
"We don't want any more invasions of our country," he said, adding that he and the other members of his administration will also "win the war on fraud," end no-cash bail and secure mandatory voter ID.
After emphasizing the need to elect Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to the U.S. Senate, Trump again urged his listeners to vote and keep the Democrats from regaining power.
"You got to get out and vote, and you're going to pretend I'm on the ballot because, in a way, I am on the ballot. Because if [Democrats] get in, they're going to take away all of the things that we got, and we can't let that happen," he said, warning that Democrats will try to "cheat like hell."
"We will reject these radical left lunatics. We will demolish the experienced fanatics, lunatics, and criminals who want to destroy our country — they want to destroy the country. Honestly, there's something wrong with them," he later added.
