'Under the Dome' Season 3 News, Spoilers: Executive Producer Tim Schlattmann On 'Deaths That Matter'

By far, Season 3 of the hit TV drama series, "Under the Dome," was scarce of any major deaths among its original characters. Except perhaps on the demise of Melanie (Grace Victoria Cox), who was killed by Big Jim (Dean Norris) in the season premiere, the current plotline is largely focused on the confusions as well as the manipulations of the show's new big baddie, Christine Price (Marg Helgenberger).

But according to recent news, this trend is about to end. Executive producer Tim Schlattmann said something to that effect during the San Diego Comic-Con 2015.

Schlattmann seemed to suggest that fans of the series should better brace themselves as the season edges forward because at least one major character is going to say goodbye.

"Sometimes a series can have deaths that don't really mean anything," the showrunner said. "I think this season, these deaths are really going to matter. It's all going to start to build in tonight's episode and moving forward. Things are going to get bananas."

Who could be these unlucky character/characters?

Meanwhile, a synopsis for this week's episode titled "Alaska" was posted at The Futon Critic and it reads:

"Big Jim and Julia (Rachelle Lefvre) form a tentative alliance to search for proof that will discredit Christine, which leads them to new information about the Dome's capabilities. Meanwhile, when tensions run high in town and threaten Christine's leadership, she puts a plan in play that has deadly consequences."

"Under the Dome" airs every Thursday, at 10 p.m. on CBS.
