Archbishop of Canterbury the Reverend Justin Welby, who heads the 80 million-member Anglican Communion, offered remarks in remembrance for the anniversary of D-Day and noted what he is doing to commemorate the event.

“On #DDay75 we remember the profound bravery and sacrifices of the coalition of international forces led by the UK & USA – and lament the horrors and destruction of war,” tweeted Archbishop Welby on Wednesday.

“It’s a privilege to be at the Normandy Peace Forum reflecting on peace, reconciliation, justice & forgiveness.”
