Jason Yates, CEO of the conservative Christian organization My Faith Votes, talked about the battle and how at the beginning, for the Allies, “death felt more certain than victory.”

“On this 75th anniversary of the D-Day landing, we thank God that so many thousands upon thousands of men cherished liberty so much they set aside their own to rescue the freedom of millions from the talons of tyranny, oppression and evil,” stated Yates.

“Jesus said ‘there is no greater love than for a man to lay down his life for his friends.’ So while we remember our heroes both lost and living for their valor and sacrifice, we also remember their love — of faith, freedom and their fellow man — that steeled their resolve.”
