Microsoft Windows 8 to Smash Android and Apple Off the Tablet Market?

Microsoft will be releasing Windows 8 in hopes of gaining territory in the tablet computer market, and becoming fierce competition for Apple’s iOS powered iPad, and the many Android-ready handheld devices.

Some analysts are indicating that this may be the perfect time for Microsoft to enter the tablet market, as it continues to grow with the constant addition of new devices and operating systems from various developers.

Apple continues to dominate the tablet market and analysts are predicting that its sales will grow nearly four times, to 69.8 percent this year. Competitors have not been able to do much in stunting the growth of Apple.

Microsoft hopes to provide the world with a reliable alternative to the iPad, and if it can pull it off, the company will boost its profits, and solidify itself in the fast growing tablet market.

Windows occupies about 90 percent of the desktop market when it comes to operating systems. Microsoft has dominated that area for almost 20 years.

With most consumers being familiar with Windows, its introduction on tablet computers should fare well and make the company a strong competitor for Apple and its iOS.

Windows will be featured on a variety of different tablets.

iPad is the only device which runs Apple’s iOS and that will probably never change.

This fact alone gives Microsoft an advantage when it comes to competing with Apple.

Samsung and Dell are already planning to release tablets that will use Microsoft Windows 8.

The price on the tablets will depend on the hardware and specs which come with the devices.

By Apple controlling a majority of the market, it has made it difficult for other vendors to buy the hardware needed to make tablets in large volume.
