Apple WWDC 2013

Apple's WWDC 2013 – the company's Worldwide Developers Conference 2013 – is scheduled to take place on Monday June 10, 2013 from San Francisco, with a start time set for 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET). The event is set to commence with the company's now-famous keynote speech and address, with coverage available to be watched online through free live stream by the video player below.

The WWDC usually unveils a stream of new products and upgrades, and this year's event should be no different.

However, anyone hoping to see the launch of the iPhone 5S or the iPhone 6 today may be left disappointed, and neither of these rumored smartphones are expected to be released today. Various rumors circulating over recent months point to those devices more likely having a release date in the fall rather than in June.

The same may be said for the latest iPad products. Apple fans will remember that the iPad 3 and the iPad Mini were previously released at this event last year. According to some rumors, the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2 could be shown off at today's event, but it is not likely – with a fall release date again being more likely, according to many analysts.

However, what is much more likely is that the latest upgrades and lines of Apple's Macbook Pro's and Macbook Air's will be unveiled on Monday. Apple is highly expected to upgrade its notebook range, with improvements to be made on both the retina and non-retina version of the Pros with the powerful Haswell processor, which was only unveiled last week.

The new processor has been boasted to significantly increase the battery life of the notebooks. Other rumors indicate that the upgraded retina display Macbook Pro will come in a much slimmer design, and will also contain a full HD FaceTime camera.

New Macbook Air's for 2013 could also see the notebook feature much faster wi-fi, as well as an updated Airport Extreme and Time Capsule wireless base stations.

The new Macbook Pro and Macbook Air are expected to ship by the end of Q2, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chu Kuo. In the past Ming-Chu Kuo has successfully predicted the release date of many of Apple's devices and the latest prediction is also thought to be spot on.

The WWDC 2013 will also likely see the release of the latest operating system – the iOS 7 and OS X 10.9. If rumors are to be believed, the new operating system will have a so-called "flat" design, which would make it feel a bit more like the interface used for Windows 8 and the Windows Phone.
