2018 BMW M3 CS Release Date, Specs News: Limited Edition Sport Sedan Comes With More Power

BMW has unveiled the M3 CS, a limited edition model that delivers more power to the German automaker's four-door high-performance sedan.

The 2018 BMW M3 CS is said to be sporty and dynamic but also practical. It is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine that delivers 453 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. It is able to produce 28 more horsepower and 37 more pound-feet of torque compared to the standard M3.

The powertrain is mated to a seven-speed M Double Clutch transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels. The sporty sedan is able to go from 0 to 62 miles per hour (mph) in 3.9 seconds and attain a top speed of 174 mph.

When the engine revs up, the M sport exhaust system produces a loud and distinct sound via four steel tailpipes.

The 2018 BMW M3 CS also comes standard with Adaptive M suspension, which uses lightweight forged aluminum that is optimized for the road and track, as well as a dynamic stability control system and an Active M limited-slip differential. Drivers will be able to adjust the sporty sedan's steering and suspension according to their preferences and road conditions.

Moreover, the use of lightweight and rigid carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) for the sport sedan's body makes the M3 CS lighter than the standard M3. This, in turn, contributes to a lower center of gravity.

All in all, these sporty components translate to a dynamic driving experience.

As for the cabin, the new M3 CS has a classy ambiance. The sedan's interior features two-tone leather upholstery in Silverstone and Black leather and Alcantara, sport seats, automatic climate control, navigation and a Harman Kardon audio system.

Orders for the BMW M3 CS will open in January 2018 with production slated to begin in March 2018. Only 1,200 units will be produced, 550 of which will be coming to the United States. Pricing details are yet to be announced.
