When people complained that the original iPad Mini's screen wasn't clear and sharp enough, Apple responded by releasing the Apple iPad Mini 2 less than one year after its predecessor. Now equipped with a Retina display, it's obviously a better device than the original version.

Meanwhile, Google was not about to rest on its laurels as it launched its Nexus 7. Touted to rival Apple's tablets, many became a fan of this device not only for its performance, but for its more affordable price.

Here's a comparison between the Apple iPad Mini 2 and the Google Nexus 7.

The new iPad Mini comes in silvery white and space gray and it measures 7.87 x 5.3 x 0.29 inches and weighs 11.68 ounces. The Nexus 7 sports a very simple design and is only available in black and the back has a smooth matte finish. It measures 7.9 x 4.5 x 0.34 inches and weighs 10.05 ounces.
