'Awkward' season 5 episode 5 spoilers and episode 4 recap: Jenna will discover something about Matty

In the next episode of "Awkward" entitled "The Dis-Engagement Dinner," the official synopsis reads, Jenna is forced to throw a party to celebrate Tamara's fake engagement; and Gabby shares a secret about Matty that sends Jenna in search of the truth.

In the preview for the episode, it seems Tamara is going through her engagement because she likes being at the center of attention. However, this party might be an absolute disaster since Jake and Matty will both be there, as well as Gabby. Gabby will get drunk and will admit something to Jenna that might bring her and Matty back together.

In the last episode, it began with Jenna as she opened her yearbook and saw that her superlative was Most Depressing, which caused her to look back at the last four years of her life. The upcoming Mother-Daughter banquet made things worse since the mothers impersonate their daughters. Lacey decided to reach back to the earlier more tumultuous years of Jenna's high school life for her material and that did not sit well with Jenna.

Lacey made things even worse when she discovered Jenna's superlative since she told Jenna that she won Most Likely Not to Go to College, while her dear old dad won Most Likely to Become a Father Before Graduation and Allie won Strongest Liver.

Jenna went looking for Val but she found Lissa instead. Lissa gave Jenna some advice about how only her friend's opinion should matter to her and not anyone else's. The yearbook drama continued when Matty and Jenna gave each other their yearbooks to sign. Jenna wrote something great, while Matty just wrote something nice and vague.

During the Mother Daughter banquet, Sadie somewhat accepted her mom Darlene since she was thrilled with her mom's impersonation of her. Jenna and Lacey had a nice heartwarming but awkward moment on stage where they made up.

"Awkward" airs every Monday on MTV.
