'Captain America 3' News, Update: Why 'Civil War' Won't Just Merely Be About the Registration Act As Expected?
Fans who are eagerly anticipating for the premiere of Marvel's upcoming big screen offering, "Captain America: Civil War," may already have the knowledge that the movie would revolve around the conflict involving the "Superhero Registration Act." However, new reports seem to clarify that this might not entirely be the case.
Citing the report from Slashfilm.com, it is indicated that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will not follow the comic book canon despite the 3rd sequel subtitle clearly declaring that it's about the "Civil War" storyline.
Readers may know that the comic book series highlights the division of sentiments between Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) and Tony Stark/Iron-Man (Robert Downey Jr.) together with their respective cohorts towards the country's registration act which would force each superhero to reveal their identities to the public and be added to a database.
According to the publication, the film will instead be using the plot called the "Sokovia Accords" which was teased in the post-credits of "Ant-Man."
Coined after the city that was nearly destroyed by Ultron, this global-scale initiative puts some leash as to what the superheroes can do.
This apparently follows after the events of "Avengers: Age of Ultron," where the Earth's Mightiest Heroes, though their intentions are noble, showed up from nowhere and have nearly obliterated South Africa and the most part of Sokovia.
This prompted the governments from all over the world to "install a system of accountability and a governing body" that will determine when to enlist the services of the Avengers.
Citing the synopsis provided over at ComicBookMovie.com, it is further said that this "new status quo" will "fracture" the Avengers who are at the same time pre-occupied with the task to "protect the world from a new and nefarious villain."
In short, "Civil War," won't be about secret identities but rather, on the question as to "who watches the watchmen?"
"Captain America 3" hit the cinemas on May 6, 2016.
