'Castle' Season 8 Episode 18 Spoilers: Hayley Joins Rick in an Investigation; Series Executive Confirms One Definite Ending
ABC's hit police procedural drama TV series "Castle" Season 8 returns this week with a brand new episode that will find Hayley in a quite tight spot. Meanwhile, the show's boss finally gave words on the questions about the show's multiple finale endings and possible futures.
First off, the synopsis posted at The Futon Critic for the episode titled "Backstabber," indicates that Hayley will find herself implicated in a killing and a cyber-terror attack. However, Rick and Kate will do everything in their power to help clear the woman's name by solving the crime.
A sneak peek offers more insight about the upcoming segment. As what can be drawn out from the clip, it appears that there's still a lot more to know about the agent and this could affect Castle and Beckett's judgment of her.

The clip introduces a certain MI6 agent who Rick found out to be Stephen Mallory. The two men talked about Hayley and the visitor point out that the NYPD doesn't really know who the woman is and for that, they need to be very careful. Rick, however, come into her defense by saying that she was just framed for a crime. Mallory insist that Hayley was in fact the main conspirator.
"Ms. Shipton is intimately involved in the planning and the execution of today's events. We have proof," Mallory said. The British spy went on to divulge about Hayley's tragic mission with the agency.
While Rick and Kate still has to figure out what Hayley is really up to, a related report from TVLine says that the show will get a definitive ending, regardless if it will get a renewal or not.
The media outlet previously reported that the show has alternate endings ready should the network decide not to flash the green light.
However, executive producer Terence Paul Winter tells TVLine this week that Season 8 will have "one ending."
He said that it will be "a cliffhanger that we're excited about, because we believe in Castle and we believe that ABC will hopefully, hopefully bring us back."
"Castle" Season 8 airs Mondays at 10 on ABC.
