FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have just confirmed the release date for "Dark Souls III" for the spring of 2016.

Upcoming action RPG "Dark Souls III," which was earlier introduced at Microsoft's 2015 E3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in June last year, has just been announced for release in April 2016.

Bandai Namco confirmed the news during the 2015 Tokyo Game Show convention this weekend, adding the release dates will be for Europe and North America, with Japan getting the game earlier by March 24, 2016.

The third main installment in FromSoftware's "Souls" series, the video game will be launched on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with no news yet available whether it will be released for Mac devices.

Players will embark on a journey into a new environment to seek out and defeat the Lords of Cinder, while eventually uncovering the secret history of the blasted landscape. The upcoming game is reported to give more emphasis on role-playing, allowing players more customization opportunities to enhance their gameplay experience.

"Dark Souls III" will be bringing in a new feature called "Weapon Art," which allows players to employ a number of special moves using certain weapons, such as "charging up" an axe to give extra damage during combat swings. However, the weapon-specific moves are limited only to a set number of uses per bonfire.

There will also be a number of in-game options, like "Skills," that add attack modifiers and provide tactical advantages, as well as a wide choice of medieval weapons, magic spells and armor sets for players to choose from.

The game has also been announced for preorder at Amazon UK, with the PC version priced at £39.85, and the Xbox and PS4 versions going for £44.

Bandai Namco has released several trailers for the games so far, including Chapter 1: "The Story Begins," Chapter 2," Embrace the Darkness," and a gameplay reveal trailer, all of which were posted in August. It recently released early gameplay footage dated this weekend, as well.
