Derrick Rose Might Sit Out for First Week of Season Due to Injury

News about the popular NBA player Derrick Rose has revealed that fans might see him for the remainder of the preseason.

It was reported that the Chicago Bulls star was still recovering from surgery. The player recently broke his left orbital while practicing. He went through surgery a couple of weeks ago, on Sept. 29. Originally, he was supposed to only stay out for two weeks, but it was confirmed that there will be a delay to his return.

According to ESPN, the head coach of the Bulls, Hoiberg, shared details on Rose's condition. He explained that the doctors noticed swelling in his eye, which led them to take a cautious approach to his medical situation. He explained that Rose will only be allowed to return after the swelling is gone and his vision returns to normal.

He added, "They still want him to be a little bit careful with the swelling and making sure his vision is back to where it's supposed to be, back to where it was before he got hit, before they want him to get anything going on with his blood pressure spiking, is kind of how I understand it."

It was also revealed that it is likely that Rose will miss the upcoming four games the team has against Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets, Indiana Pacer, and Dallas Mavericks. Hoiberg also added that it is possible for Rose to have to sit out the first week of the upcoming season.

"We got to make sure — he hasn't really done anything and that will be a good two or three weeks where he has total inactivity, so just to throw him back out there going 100 percent with your speed and everything, you just don't want to take any risks, any chances, where it could be a lingering issue," Hoiberg said.
