This regular season battle is on March 29, 2016 at 7:30 PM ET.

On the other hand, the Pistons hold the eighth and final playoff spot in the East and are trying to fend off challenges from the Washington Wizards and the Chicago Bulls.

Between the two teams, it is clearly the Pistons who need this win more - but the Thunder are on a great roll as they want to keep the pressure in the final stretch of the regular season.

Detroit is coming off a big loss to the Atlanta Hawks where they were thrashed 112-95.

It broke their five game winning streak and pushed the gap between them and the other playoff hopefuls even closer.

Now with only a handful of games remaining, the Pistons need big wins over big squads to lift their hopes and add more pressure to other teams.

It will prove to be extremely difficult as they face the team with the longest winning streak at the moment in the Thunder.

Already winners of eight straight, the Thunder are getting incredible contribution from their stars as well as their role players - and even stepping up their defense to get where they are now.

They have eight games remaining in the season and if they can close it out with wins they can easily translate that in the playoffs.

In their first matchup, the Thunder handled the Pistons easily as they won 103-87. It was a dominating performance at the Chesapeake Energy Arena and the Pistons are hoping they can avoid that in front of their home fans.
