'Doctor Who' Cast News, Spoilers: Clara Oswald Actress Says She's Staying for Another Series

A lot of Whovians were frightened to hear the rumors surrounding Clara Oswald's (Jenna Coleman) death and eventual departure in the recently-aired Doctor Who Christmas episode. As it turns out, the Doctor's assistant will be staying around a little longer.

Last episode's relieving revelation is yet to be topped up with Coleman's recent confirmation with BBC as she told the news outlet that she won't be leaving the show, at least until the story is resolved.

"It's wonderful. I get a whole other series of stories with the Doctor and I couldn't walk away with the story being unresolved," Coleman said. "There is so much more to do. I think they've finally just reached a point where they really understand each other.

"The arrival of the 12th Doctor has just kind of dropped this whole bombshell and allowed the dynamic to totally change, so I think just when Clara was feeling more comfortable in the relationship, it has suddenly thrown something new up," she continued.

The twelfth and the current actor of the titular character, Peter Capaldi, also expressed his excitement of working with the 28-year-old English actress.

"I'm thrilled. Jenna has just been fantastic and such a pleasure to work with," the 56-year-old Scottish actor commended.

Coleman made her first appearance on the hit TV show as a variation of Clara Oswald during the 7th season's "Asylum of the Daleks." She made her real debut in the 2012 Christmas Special of Doctor Who titled "The Snowmen."

Doctor Who returns to the BBC and BBC America in 2015.
