'Flip or Flop' Star Christina El Moussa Splits with Doug Spedding as He Enters Rehab
Christina El Moussa has started to pick up the pieces after parting bitterly with her ex-husband, Tarek, just a little over a year ago. Today, it seems that she will have to scramble, yet again, after breaking up with her current partner.
The 34-year-old "Flip or Flop" star split up with Doug Spedding after the latter entered rehab because of his struggles with addiction, InTouch Weekly reported. Apart from his substance addiction, Spedding was also caught by El Moussa cheating with an ex-girlfriend.
"Christina encouraged him to go back to rehab. Christina is the type of person who sees the best side of others, and that's how she was with Doug," shared an insider. "Caring about someone does not save someone and Christina knows that. She just wanted to help him," the insider added.
Moreover, another source confirmed that Spedding had been seeing his ex-lover, Tracy Diaz. "Christina went to put an alarm on Doug's cell phone to wake him up and she saw text messages," the source said, but clarified that the TV host "did not just turn his back" on Spedding.
"She respects and supports Doug's decision to take the steps to make changes in his life. Ultimately she cares about him and his daughters and has no doubt this is what is best for them," the source added.
Meanwhile, E! News reported that Spedding has a deep history with drug and alcohol abuse and that El Moussa was well aware of it, another source shared. Things had reportedly gotten worse the past month and El Moussa's friends already advised her to cut their relationship.
El Moussa, for her part, took to social media to express her optimism about what she and Spedding are going through. She posted an Instagram photo with a quote, saying, "There is no shame in beginning again, for you get a chance to build bigger + better than before." In addition, she also used the hashtag "#keepthefaith" showing her belief that things will get better in time.
Christina and ex-husband and "Flip or Flop" co-star Tarek split in May of 2016, with the latter officially filing for divorce early this year. Despite their bitter parting, the two still managed to continue working professionally, at least on cam, as they signed up for a new season for their HGTV show.
