'Game of Thrones' Season 6 News, Cast, Spoilers: Is Ian McShane Bringing The Hound Back?

"Game of Thrones" is months away from its season 6 premiere, and already many are clamoring for news about what the new season could have in store for the fans. Aside from the fact that the books will no longer serve as a guide, the mysterious story lines, as well as continuous addition of cast members in unknown roles, have been building the excitement for many.

One of the actors that is posed to join the upcoming season is Ian McShane; however, his character until now is still unconfirmed. However, in a recent interview with Pop Goes the News, he teases readers about what he will be doing in his appearance. He shares, "I'll give you one hint. I am responsible for bringing somebody back that you think you're never going to see again. I'll leave it at that." His words had then led to a series of theories as to who he is actually referring to.

According to Screen Rant, there are three possible people that McShane might bring back to life. First is none other than Jon Snow. Of course, at this point, it is expected by many that Jon will be brought back to life by someone, so it may be in contrast to what McShane had mentioned. It is certainly too obvious if that is indeed the case. Another person suspected is Lady Stoneheart. Lady Stoneheart has been a character somehow expected to appear at some point to lead the Brotherhood Without Banners like in the novels; however, the show's insistent denial that she will be in it is a sign that perhaps she isn't the one McShane is talking about.

Finally, the last and most likely character to be resurrected is The Hound played by Sandor Clegane (Rory McCann). The last time viewers saw the Hound, he was left bleeding to death, although it was never really shown that he had met his demise. This open ending for the character leaves more possibilities for his return later on. However, with the current story line, it seems that if it is indeed The Hound who will be making a comeback, it shouldn't be expected that he will be his same violent self as signs point to him being reborn as a more gentle version.
