Police are now investigating a Chicago father for posting a picture of his daughter with her hands and feet bound and mouth gagged on Facebook.

Andre Curry, 21, received huge Internet rebuke after posting the photo in July with the caption “this is wut happens wen my baby hits me back.”

The Chicago Police Department told MailOnline they were tipped off to the disturbing Facebook photo and their special investigations unit is now investigating Curry.

A friend of Curry's, Je’Vanna Cobbins, told The Smoking Gun, Curry was only “playing around,” and would “never do anything to harm anyone.”

“People play with their child differently,” Cobbins told The Smoking Gun.

Curry has since removed the photo from his account, but is still the target off angry Facebook users who have labeled Curry “a nasty child abuser.”

One upset user said, “I hope you fall down the stairs and land on a bunch of bullets. Hate hate hate hate!”

Another user wrote: "This is what happens when children have children. I won't leave a negative comment because hate breeds more hate. This boy needs prayer, education, parenting classes, and therapy."

Curry has still not commented on the photo.
