Google Offers Free Repairs for Pixel Owners as Relief for Hurricane Harvey Survivors

Identified as a Category 4 hurricane, Harvey wreaked havoc in Texas earlier this month. People were displaced from their homes, and emergency response was delayed due to flooding. Houston is continuing to thrive after the devastation caused by the hurricane. In an effort to provide some form of comfort, UBreakiFix has partnered up with Google to offer free repairs of Pixel phones for the survivors of Hurricane Harvey.

"In an effort to provide some small relief to our customers and friends in the Houston area who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey, we've teamed up with Google to offer free repairs on all Pixels," said UBreakiFix in a statement.

Furthermore, the move to offer free repairs comes in light of the storm survivors are relying on their phone to contact their loved ones, as well as stay up to date on the latest announcements on relief efforts. Considering that Google's flagship smartphone is not waterproof, it is presumed that repairs for water damage are included in the deal.

To avail of the free repairs that UBreakiFix is offering, customers are urged to take their Pixel phones to the nearest stalls in the following areas in Houston: The Heights, Rice Village, Pearland, Pasadena, West Chase, Sugar Land, and Webster. It is unclear as to what is the coverage of the free repair, but owners of Google's Pixel are hoping that UBreakiFix will be able to get their respective devices up and running within a short period of time.

UBreakiFix and Google's offer lasts until Sept. 30. The free repairs also cover damage of Pixel XL phones. Although there is no hint of an extension, people are encouraged to regularly check UBreakiFix's blog for more information.

In the meantime, relief efforts are still being extended in Houston, with many living in government-funded evacuation centers.
